A Few Christmas Activities 2014

Christmas has always been my favorite time of year.  This year has been extra special so far.  Shelby and I have been very busy enjoying the season.  Here are a few snap shots.

Here he comes...

...One would think this was exciting

But Shelby did not like Santa.  Loved the helicopter, not Santa.

Shelby: 22 Months

22 Months!

Oh Shelbs.  Here you are, 22 months of age!

  • You celebrated your 2nd Thanksgiving.  We were at our house with Memommy and G-Pa.  Don't worry, we went to Grammie and Pops' house the next day and saw them too!  Your favorite food was the twice baked potatoes
  • You love Paci the Pup or "Buff" so much.  You need him all the time but mommy tries to only let you have him at nap time and bed time.
  • We are a LITTLE obsessed with Curious George or "Sheorsh".  We must have watched his Halloween Boo Fest 20 times.
  • "Cuse me, Mommy" is a new phrase for excuse me.  Love it.
  • You randomly count, "three, four, FI!" So smart!
  • You love to color with markers.  Your favorite is when I trace your hand and get marker on the outside.  In fact, you only let me trace a few fingers and then you lift your hand to see if marker is on it.  So silly!!
  • You also love to finger paint.  Your favorite thing to do there is get a bunch of paint down on the paper and then drag your finger nail through it.  So hilarious.
  • You also tell me when you think out fits are cute.  "Cuuuu, Mommy!"
  • If I ask you what you want to wear, you always say, "Elsa!" So I don't always ask haha.  We wear that dress every where.
  • We also learned a memory verse from hand motions- Psalm 111: I will give thanks to the Lord with my WHOLE heart.  And then Mommy's heart exploded.
You are beautiful and smart and funny and the apple of my eye.

I love you, Shelby!

Halloween 2014 BZZZZZ

Halloween was super fun this year!  We thought you were sick so we missed out on several of the activities we planned to do.  I was so sad but we still had fun.  We painted pumpkins and went to the PV Halloween Carnival.  I also snapped a pic in your Halloween PJ's!

Boo!  Shelby, you make holidays so fun!

Shelby 21 Months

Oh my Shelbster.  You're 21 months old.  You:

  • Know the letters y, x, and o.
  • Say "Hi Mommy" about a million times a day... I love it
  • You have started to play and talk with yourself and animate some things.  I love to sit and watch you.
  • You now tell me whenever you "boo poo".  I am hoping that this means potty training will be easier?
  • You love to point out a "ba pane" or air plane as they fly by.  Even when we hear them in the house you point it out.
  • You think any lawn mower or tractor noise is daddy.
  • You also say "dosh" for "gosh" which your mommy and daddy both say.  I'm not proud of this. You even use it appropriately.  If you drop something on the ground or if you even look at my face and can tell I'm frustrated you say it.  CONVICTED!  Mommy feels awful about it.
  • You love to dance to music in the car
  • You love to sing some of the words to Frozen too.  They pop out every once in a while.
  • I've started you at MDO on Tuesdays.  This was a really hard decision for me because I love to spend my days with you!  But, you love it and I think you are learning how to play with friends.
  • You also got your two bottom incisors!  I can't believe how many teeth you have!

Beautiful!

I love you so much!  Thank you for being my sweet girl!

Pumpkin Patch Fun

We made our annual trip to Bo Brook Farm Pumpkin Patch yesterday!  Last year was really sweet, but Shelby was 9 months old so we just kind of stuck her in front of the pumpkins for pictures.  She wasn't able to really know what was going on around her.  This year, oh my goodness, did she have fun!  Here are some pictures from the afternoon.

Riding with Weston in the wagon

Sprinting to the giant hay pyramid

Climbing like a big girl to the tippy top!

I'm amazed by her bravery

Climbing down by herself too!

Checking out the chickens

If there's an animal, she wants to pet it.  She comes by it honest.

Whatever Dylan and Caleb do, she has to do too!

Riding on daddy's shoulders!

Picking out up pumpkins

That face.  I die.

Monkey see, monkey do.

Showing off for daddy

Dylan is so sweet and patient with her!

We let her run as far as she wanted to... until we stopped her.  No telling where she would've finally stopped!

And the corn pit...

Can you see that smile?

We did this for about 30 minutes.  She only tried to eat it twice!
And now my heart will explode from my chest.  Check out the difference a year makes:

Scarecrows!  They don't scare me!  I wanna kiss 'em!
This was the best one I got of the 4 kiddos!

We had a blast with our friends- as we always do!  I am so grateful for this time of year.  Lots of precious memories with friends and family!

Shelby 20 Months Post

Oh Shelby.  I never add all of the pictures I get of you when I take these each month but I thought I would show off your silly personality.  I went back and read your 19 month post and truly everything is pretty similar.  No new huge milestones this month.  You have one new tooth up top left- a molar.  You also have just figured out eating really well.  I know this sounds silly since you will be 2 soon but, you will just eat what mommy gives you now and you haven't done that until this month.
Since there aren't many big changes to share, I will just share our average day.  I try to get us out of the house in the mornings.  On Mondays we go to Pre School Bible story time at church.  On Tuesdays we go to the library and do Mother Goose Story time- you absolutely love this.  On Wednesdays we usually meet with friends and play.  Nothing regular on Fridays, but we usually find something!  On Thursdays mommy has Bible study at church and you go with me and play with your friends.  We eat lunch around 11 and you nap at 12 pretty much on the dot daily.  You sleep for about 2 hours.  Then we are up and eating snack and we either go to the park or play outside.  You love to run around and it's so good for you.  We then eat supper, you take a bath, and then we read and play before Bible and Prayers and bed.  Some days are slow and they drag.  Some days go by so fast.  Sometimes, when we are coming home from our morning time playing, you will fall asleep in the truck.  Then, mommy gets to carry you in and rock you while you sleep for a few minutes.  This time and the rare times you wake up in the middle of the night are the only times you are still with me.  My heart is so happy during these special moments.  I just hold you and pray for you and soak in the moment of how proud I am to be your mommy.

I love you so much my Shelby June!
