This is the culprit. We bought this dude when we moved into our house (almost 2 years ago, can't believe how time flies!) He has put stainless steel scratches on the walls. I now get to re-paint the walls this week while I am on "vacation" :).
You can just barely see the scratches, but they are there.
Say "Hello" to my lih-le frien! (We just watched Scarface last week... and we have been saying "main" for "man" ever since. If you have not seen this movie, you probalby don't appreciate the references.) He sits comfortably against my counter and only has a small flap that opens and does NOT hit it.

I think you are a hilariously good house-keeper to even consider re-painting. BUT I love the new location! That's where I always look for your trashcan, despite how many times I've been to your house and seen where it sits.
